Blindfold Juggle

User Guide

Overview

Blindfold Juggle is a fully accessible juggling game, for both sighted and visually impaired people, designed for rapid audio play.

You control this game using iPhone gestures and the game is most fun when using ear-buds, headphones, or blue-tooth stereo speakers.
After you have calibrated your left and right movements, position your paddle by swing the phone left or right.

First, in the main menu, select one of the Juggling games.
Start with Bounce Practice.
The objective of the game is to keep as many animals juggling in the air as you can.
When you miss tossing an animal back up into the air, it crashes into the ground and limps away sadly, and the game is over.

Bounce Practice

In Bounce Practice, you want to keep two animals in the air for as long as you can.
To start, tap the phone twice, and one animal will be tossed up into the air from your phone.
It will rise for 2 to 15 seconds, and then fall back down to the ground.
You will always hear the animal; the higher it goes, the less you will hear it.

To bounce it back up again, make the phone is under the animal as it lands, by keeping the animal’s’ sound in the center of your head.
You get one point for each time you toss the animal back into the air.
Each time it bounces, it will bounce with a different force; the louder the boing, the stronger the bounce was.

To start juggling a second ainmal, tap the screen twice again.
The game is easier if you toss the animals from different positions, otherwise the animals might knock into each other, or eat one another.
When you are juggling two animals, you get two points each time an animal is bounces off of your phone.

Once you have mastered Bounce Practice, you should move onto Bounce Game and the Juggling games.
In the Bounce Games, you only have to have the phone under the animal as it falls back to earth.
In the Juggle Games, not only do you have your phone under the animal, but you must snap your wrist as if you are tossing the animal back up again.
In all games, you can bounce or juggle on different planets.
In the Juggle games, you will need to adjust the power of your toss to the planet’s gravity.

To recalibrate your left and right hand positions, swipe down with 3 fingers prior to starting a new game.
In the bounce games, you can change a setting so that you play by moving your finger left and right on the screen. That is not allowed in the juggle games.

To go back to the main menu, swipe up with 3 fingers.

Gravity

You can select the planet that you want to juggle on.
Some planets have more gravity than others, so you will have to modify your tossing power based on the planet you pick.
If you toss or bounce a very light animal on the Moon, such as a canary, it might take several minutes for it to return to the ground.
Use this time to toss other animals.
On the other hand, if you toss or bounce a very heavy animal on Jupiter, such as a horse, it might only take a few seconds to return to the ground.

Juggle Skills

Now you need to learn how to juggle the animals, instead of just having the animals bounce off of your phone.
To toss the ainmal up in the air, you must snap your wrist just as the ainmal hits the phone.

While playing this game, the phone should be portrait mode, facing up – in other words, the screen is facing the ceiling.
To toss an ainmal, snap your wrist towards your body, so that the phone’s screen faces your body for an instant, and then returns to facing the ceiling.
It’s the same wrist move that you make when you toss a ball up into the air.
The faster you snap your wrist, the higher the ainmal will be tossed.

Juggle Skills starts out by teaching you to snap your wrist. The faster you snap your wrist, the more powerfully you will toss the animal, and the higher it will go.
Blindfold Juggle learns how fast your fastest snap is, and then tells you how powerful each of your tosses are, on a scale from 1 to 10.
By learning to control your wrist snapping, you can control how high each animal is tossed.

You can change the rating of your most powerful toss by playing Juggle Skills game again.
Juggle Skills does not use any coins.

Juggle Game

This game is just like Bounce Game, except you must toss the animal back up into the air each time it gets close to your paddle.

To toss the animal the first time, tap the screen twice. The animal is tossed up for a few seconds, and then falls back to your paddle.

About a second before the animal hits your paddle, you’ll hear a twang-twang sound.
When you hear it, snap your wrist to toss the animal back up, and you will hear the same throwing sound you hear in the the Juggle Skills game.
The more powerfully you snap, the higher the animal is tossed.

If you don’t toss the animal, and the poor animal smashes into your paddle and you’ll hear a boing sound.
The animal bounces off of your paddle with half of the force that you used the prior time to toss it.
That means the first time it hits your paddle, it bounces at 50%, then at 25% then at about 12%, and so on.
The animal will begin to hate your paddle.

Once you hear the twang-twang, you have about 5 seconds to toss the animal.
You can make the game easier or harder by changing, in the SETTINGS screen, how much time you have to snap your wrist after you hear twang-twang.
For even more of a challenge, you set the game to end if you don’t toss the animal within that time.

If you snap your wrist, and there’s no animal to toss, you’ll hear a honk.

Juggle Game by Size

This game is just like Juggle Game, but you’ll need more power to toss bigger animals, and less power to toss smaller animals.

To toss the animal the first time, tap the screen twice. The animal is tossed up for a few seconds, and then falls back to your paddle.

About a second before the animal hits your paddle, you’ll hear a twang-twang sound.
When you hear it, snap your wrist to toss the animal back up, and you will hear the same throwing sound you hear in the the Juggle Practice game.
The more powerfully you snap, the higher the animal is tossed.
