Based on which Video Poker game you are playing, you win different amounts of your original bet.

In Dealer Poker games, you play against a dealer. The dealer gives you and himself cards, and you can bet multiple times, and if your hand is better than the dealer’s you win based on your hand and your bet.

See the Video Poker or Dealer Poker guides in help for detailed instructions.

The game comes with 25 chips and each chip is worth one dollar (or one pound or one euro, based on where you are).

The standard Video Poker game is Jacks or Better. For information on the other Video Poker games, read the Video Poker More Games guide.

Jacks or Better Hands are scored as follows:

A royal flush is a hand that contains five cards in sequence, all of the same suit, starting with an Ace, such as Ace of hearts, King of hearts, Queen of hearts, Jack of hearts, Ten of hearts, and pays off at 250 to 1.

A straight flush is a hand that contains five cards in sequence, all of the same suit, such as 2 of hearts, 3 of hearts, 4 of hearts, 5 of hearts, 6 of hearts, and pays off at 50 to 1.

Four of a kind, such as a 5 of spades, 5 of diamonds, 5 of hearts and 5 of clubs pays off at 25 to 1.

A full house contains three matching cards of one rank and two matching cards of another rank, such as 3 of hearts, 3 of diamonds, 3 of clubs, and a 5 of spades and a 5 of diamonds, and pays off at 9 to 1.

A flush is where all five cards are of the same suit, but not in sequence, such as 2 of clubs, 4 of clubs, 5 of clubs, 10 of clubs and Queen of clubs, and pays off at 6 to 1.

A straight is a hand that contains five cards in sequence of different suits, such as 4 of diamonds, 5 of clubs, 6 of spades, 7 of hearts and 8 of hearts, and pays off at 4 to 1.

Three of a kind such as a 7 of spades, 5 of diamonds, 7 of hearts and 7 of clubs pays off at 3 to 1.

Two pair contains two cards of the same rank, plus two cards of another rank; such as 4 of clubs and 4 of spades, and 8 of diamonds and 8 of spades, and pays off at 2 to 1.

If none of the above combinations occur, and the hand contains at least one pair of jacks, queens, kings, or aces, then it is considered Jacks or better, and pays off at 1 to 1; in other words, you break even and get back what you bet.

To play again, swipe up with one finger.
To view the payoff chart, swipe down with 3 fingers.
When you win, to post your success to facebook or twitter, tap twice with 2 fingers.

Double Double Bonus

As the name suggests, Double Double Bonus is an extended version of the popular Double Bonus video poker. It has two added pays for four of a kinds with kickers. The highest of these pays is for quad aces with a 2, 3 or 4 kicker. This win pays a big 2000 coins or half that of a royal flush at max bet. These bigger pays increase the variance almost a third when compared to Double Bonus.

Specifically, 4 aces with either 2, 3 or 4 pays 400 to 1. Four twos, threes, or fours, with one of either ace, 2, 3 or 4 pays 160 to 1.

The good news is that full pay Double Double Bonus is one of the games that has an expected value of over 100%, although just barely with a 0.06% positive for the player. The pay table is the one to remember – look for the 10/6 pays. That is 10 coins for a full house and 6 coins for a flush. Make sure also that the straight flush pays 50 coins as there are 10/6 machines with a 40 coin straight flush pay.

Hands that win: royal flush, straight flush, four aces, four of a kind, full house, flush, straight, 3 of a kind, two pair, jacks or better.

Deuces Wild

Probably the most popular video poker variation featuring wild cards. Deuces Wild as the name suggest has all cards with the value of two as wild cards that can substitute for any other card. This adds some extra pays such as five of a kind, wild royal flush and the all important four deuces. The game has quite a high variance as the four deuces win makes up a big chunk of the overall payback.

With a payout percentage of 100.76% full pay Deuces Wild machines are definitely worth playing if you can find them. Apart from the best version there are also several other variations that have expected returns higher than full pay Jacks or Better.

Hands that win: natural royal flush, four deuces, royal flush, 5 of a kind, straight flush, four of a kind, full house, flush, straight and three of a kind.

Bonus Deuces Wild

Bonus Deuces Wild expands on the highly popular deuces wild pay table with extra pays for five of a kinds and a big pay for four deuces with an ace kicker. While the additional pays may look attractive the full pay version still has a lower expected value (99.86%) than regular full pay deuces wild (100.76%).

The pay table to look for is the 10/4/4 variation. This relates to 10 coins for a straight flush, 4 coins for a four of a kind and 4 coins for a full house. You will notice that there is no bonus for betting max coins on the royal flush pay. This means that if you intend to play less than max bet then Bonus Deuces Wild is a relatively good machine to play as expected value remains the same for all bet levels.

Hands that win: natural royal flush, four deuces with one ace, four deuces, royal flush, five of a kind, straight flush, four of a kind, full house, flush, straight, three of a kind.
